I’ve never been one for making resolutions for the new year. But, this year, I’m breaking tradition with a few of my own that bear adopting.

First, along with hundreds of thousands of others, I vow to lose weight. Like, maybe 30 pounds. It won’t be easy, because for the past several years, I’ve allowed myself to lapse into a sedentary lifestyle that simply invites fat. And it’s amazing on how fast fat creeps up around the midsection, and the backside. Over the weekend, I was cleaning out my closet and came across no less than 6 pair of Levis 501’s. Size 30/30, 32/30 and 34/30. All accumulated over the last 10 year. And, none of which, incidentally, no longer fit. So, I said “That’s it.” So, I’ve given myself 3 months to put an end to the tummy pouch and get back into shape. And get to the point where, finally, I can see my feet.

The second resolution that goes along with the first, is to definitely eat better. Not that I’m a fast food junkie or anything like that, but I could eat better. So, no longer peanut butter sandwiches. And more of the usual chicken, veggies and trans-fat-free foods. Now, I know that this is only the fourth day of the new year, and resolutions are easy to make. Not keep. But this time I’m gonna really try. Try my damndest. And, who knows, I just might succeed and by my birthday, I can join those folks who are in pretty good shape.

Glad to hear your decided to make a change in your life because as you said, it just seems to creep up and before know it ta-da!!  I don't believe in new years resolutions though..  I stopped making them since I stopped fulfilling them! I choose to make life style changes through out the year rather than once a year.  Good luck to you and keep us posted on your progress!
